Both the schemes have come into effect from October 1 and each policy is valid for one year. State Health department is the nodal agency of the two schemes.

The MSHCS will cover those BPL and APL families not covered under AB-PMJAY and family members of a government servant, who are not entitle to medical assistance. Beneficiaries who receive treatment outside the state can also claim reimbursement, including conveyance under the new scheme.

Registration may be applied in a place designated by respective village councils and local councils within a given period till November.

Under the new healthcare programme, beneficiaries can claim medical reimbursement for the period ranging from 10 days pre-hospitalization to 10 days after discharge.

For organ transplant, beneficiaries can claim medical assistance up to 30 days.

The health care scheme will also cover pre-hospitlisation investigation expenses if certified by doctor or registered medical practitioner.

Under the MSHCS and AB-PMJAY, medical assistance can be availed for OPD patients in 26 packages or diseases.

Both the schemes are being implemented in all government hospitals and efforts are being made to implement in private hospitals across the state, officials said.
