Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): District Review Meeting of Medical Officers Mokokchung was held on August 20, 2011 at IDSP conference hall IMDH, Mokokchung under the chairmanship of Dr.Yangerla Director, Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland.
Highlighting the responsibilities and duties, Dr.Yangerla encouraged the Medical Officers to maintain good relation with the community so that the community should come forward to co-operate. She also asked the medical officers to stay at their posting place to implement the programme successfully.
All the Medical Officers presented their activities report. During the interaction grievances were shared which they faced while delivering their services. The main problem discussed included the shortage of manpower especially the shortage of Medical Officers faced at IMDH and three CHCs.
At present only six Doctors are attending to emergency duties at IMDH with an average of 150 OPD per day. The same Doctors are made to attend to the patients as well as trainings which create a lot of problems to both the patients and the doctors.
To ease the burden of shortage of manpower at IMDH,the house decided to make  adjustments and arrangements from Medical Officers posted at PHCs like Mangmetong, Longsa, Mongsenyimti and Longkum till new appointments were made.Lakhuni MO is to relieve Mangkolemba CHC and Merangkong MO to relieve Tuli CHC.  All these Medical Officers will visit their concerned health units once a week.
The meeting was attended by Medical superintendent, Deputy CMO, SMOs and MOs from IMDH,CHCs, PHCs and DPMU.
