MKYO’s 45th Sports meet underway

Azo call for comprehensive sports policy

The State government need to frame a comprehensive state sports policy for all discipline in order to take the talented sportspersons forward, stressed MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu today.  

Maintaining that Nagaland has so much potential in sports, he emphasized on the need to promote sports in suitable manner while speaking at the opening ceremony of the 45th Sports meet of Middle Khomi Youth Organization (MKYO) at the newly constructed local ground of Middle Khomi under Phek district on December 11.  

“Government needs to give more importance for promotion of sports and invest more funds towards sports activities in the state,” Azo said while addressing the opening ceremony of the 45th Sports meet of Middle Khomi Youth Organization (MKYO) at the newly constructed local ground of Middle Khomi under Phek district.  

Azo also urged upon the sports lovers to focus on constant practice so as to excel in sports.  

Also speaking on the occasion, MLA Kezhienyi Khalo called upon the participants to exhibit their best skills and improve further.   He thanked Azo for always standing tall towards the welfare and progress of the Chakhesang community.  

Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by MKYO president Zalezo Vero while sports secretary Verayi Tenenu administered oath to the five participating teams.  

The opening ceremony was chaired by Vedüsü Lohe while vote of thanks was proposed by Middle Khomi Village Council chairman Vekhotso Lohe.  

The meet will conclude on December 15 with Vecüto Tenyi, General Secretary NDPP Youth Organization (Central) as guest of honour.
