Mon dist gets new Maternity & Paediatric ward

Mon, January 21 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner & Chairman District Hospital Management Committee, Mon Dinesh Kumar, IAS has formally inaugurated the new RDC Building (Maternity & Paediatric ward) here at District Hospital, Mon on January 20 in the presence of the Government Officers, NGOs and medical staffs of the district.
Speaking at the occasion the DC said that Mon district have been functioning without proper Maternity and Paediatric ward for a long period and added that with the opening of the new building for maternity and paediatric ward initiated by the MSF, the health care facilities of both the mother and child would be improved.
Lauding the good coordination and team works of the MSF and the medical officials of the Health & Family Welfare Department in the district, he said the success or the failure in the development of the hospital is a joint venture of both the MSF and Medical staffs of the hospital and both the team are equally responsible for its achievement in the management of the hospital.
The DC also called upon the medical staffs of the hospital not to be fully dependent on the MSF alone while managing the affairs of the hospital but to adopt the sincere work and the working system of the MSF and to rededicated in their service to provide quality health care to the people in the district. Pointing out that the MSF will take care of the hospital only for a short period, Dinesh Kumar urged upon the medical staffs to adopt the work culture for sustainable management of the hospital in the years to come.
The DC also hoped that with the free medical equipments, medicines and infrastructures provided by the MSF and the assistances of the State Government, Mon civil hospital would soon become a model hospital. He also informed that at present the Mon hospital is the only hospital in the state which is functioning with evening shift and called upon the public to avail the opportunity.
Speaking on behalf of the Konyak Union, Wangtao Hosea, Assistant Secretary KU appreciated the MSF for all round development of the district hospital. He assured that the KU would extend all possible help and support for the progress of the hospital. While Yumah, President KNSK congratulated the good teamwork and coordination of the MSF and the Hospital staffs and she exhorted to keep the team spirit alive and provide proper medical service to the people.
Field Coordinator of the MSF, Virginie Thys in her short speech said that the RDC building is the first project of the MSF for the hospital and their next project will be for Operation Theatre. She also added that the MSF would try its best to provide all basic medical facilities in the hospital and seek the cooperation of all concern to improve the management of the hospital and to provide quality health care to the people.
The programme was chaired by Dr. M.A. Wati, Medical Superintendent and vote of thank was proposed by Dr. Ricky Embuido, MSF.
