Mon District Level Science Seminar 2018 was held on the topic ‘Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0: Are we prepared?’ at DEO Conference Hall, Mon on September 11. Wangmai Walim Konyak, a Class IX of Sacred Heart School, Mon won the district level competition. She will represent Mon district in the state level competition scheduled on September 21.
District Education Officer, Mon R. Zayao Lotha, speaking on the function as guest speaker asked whether we are prepared to cope with the pace of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 unfolding before us or whether we are fit to live with the internet world today. He also mentioned that, Industrial Revolution has both merit and demerit. Some of its demerits are like employment problems, work demand and unequal distribution of wealth, he said however adding that many changes are also brought about by Industrial Revolution. “We are living in the 21st century where everyone has to cope with this internet world,” he added.
Altogether, 14 schools under Mon participated in the seminar which was organised by District Education Officer’s Mon. Gautam Kumar Chetri, PGT, GHSS Mon, T. Limawapang, PGT, GHSS Mon and A.K.Singh, Vice Principal, GHSS Mon Town-D were the panel of judges.
