MON: Hundreds form human chain for Clean Election

In line with the Clean Election Campaign, the Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjum (KBBB) in collaboration with the District Administration organized a rally of human chain at Mon Town on February 12.  

Hundreds of students from different schools of Mon town participated in the event. The Human Chain started from Private Station and culminated at Local Ground. Short programme was conducted at the local ground where R. Wilfred (IAS) SDO (C) Mon HQ chaired the function. 

 K. Thavaseelan (IAS), DC & DEO Mon, in his short speech mentioned that responsible voting is essential. He further encouraged the students to ask their parents to vote on 27th February without fail.  

‘Marathon race for Clean Election’

Meanwhile, K. Thavaseelan (IAS), DC & DEO Mon, flagged off a ‘Marathon race for Clean Election’ at Mon on February 12. A total of 72 males and 16 females participated in the run organised by KBBB in collaboration with District Administration, Mon. The participants were from different departments and general public took part in the competition.  

In general category, Nahtei N Konyak, Chamkay Konyak and Nokkai L Konyak emerged as the winner, First runner up and Second runner up respectively. Nokhan of Forest Department and Hangkhanlal of Post Office Mon got the first and second prizes in the Department category.  

In the special category, Lijao, Chest No.388, 59 years of age emerged as the winner. She was the oldest runner and works as a typist in the Urban Development Department. Among the women participants, Ateih emerged as the winner.
