Mon-Namtola road construction not satisfactory

Mon, July 16 (MExN): Monthly Mon District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on July 16 at DC’s Conference Hall, Mon.  

According to a DIPR report, the advisor of Fire & Emergency Services, SIRD and Relief & Rehabilitation and Chairman DPDB Mon, Pohwang Konyak referring to Mon-Namtola road said that “the government is spending lots of money on roads but the road in the district is not satisfactory.” In this regard, he reminded the concerned department to check and present the progression of work and give completion certificates to the contractors only after completion and verified properly.  

He mentioned that the quality of road construction should not be compromised on shortage of sanction money or any other excuses. “The government is ready to allot more sanction if it is genuine,” the Advisor asserted.  

Other agendas discussed during the meeting were up gradation of Phomching Police Station at Phomching to full-fledged Police Station; establishment of Soil & Water Conservation Office at Phomching and establishment of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Sub-Centre at Phomching. Construction of Culvert & Drainage to A/road of Mon town to Water source at S/Wamsa village, Mon Judicial Court Building, recognition of Yingangh School, Aboi and Mon – Namtola road.  

Dr. ManjanKonyak, Farm Manager PBC, Tizit gave power point presentation on the activities carried out by the Veterinary & Animal Husbantary department in Mon district during the year 2018.  

Dr. Kechongol Sophie, CMO Mon also informed on the Measles-Rubella Vaccination campaign which is going to start from October 3, 2018. Mon district is targeting around 80-90 thousands of children ranging from 9 months to 15 years. By 2020 the government of India is targeting to eliminate measles-Rubella in the country.  

Earlier the board welcomed new DPDB members Imnalensa, SP Mon, Kumar Ramnikant ADC Mon Hq, Er. Nikuto, EE PWD (R&B) and Hukato Sumi, vice president Wangkhao College.
