More orgs demand justice for alleged murder of Engineer

Kohima, MARCH 30 (MExN): Several organisations and others have condemned the alleged murder of Er Kevinguto Khate on March 16.

 

AYO: Condemning the alleged murder, the Angami Youth Organization (AYO) demanded that justice be brought at the earliest and the highest punishment be awarded to the culprits.

 

Late Khate, a revered member of the organisation, was serving as an assistant professor at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Chümoukedima and was on the verge of completing his doctorate degree, AYO said in a press release.  “The organization tempestuously condemns the crime inflicted upon one of our finest nonpareil member and questions the motive behind the act,” it said.

 

While lauding the police department for promptly arresting the suspects, the AYO further appealed that justice be brought at the earliest and the highest punishment be awarded to the culprits, added the release issued by AYO President, Kekhrie Pfukha and General Secretary Visako Rino. It further conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family and pray to the Almighty to grant solace to the family.

 

AGOK: The Angami Gazetted Officers Krotho (AGOK) has expressed great shock and distress to learn of the alleged murder of Late Er Kevinguto Khate.

 

The AGOK in a press release issued by President, Dr Kedozeto Punyu and General Secretary, Megolhou Dolie has vehemently condemned the “senseless and heinous murder of a young officer in the prime of his life and is of the strong view that the concerned authorities leave no stone unturned to serve justice to the victim and his family, who not only have to come to terms with his death, but also the fact that his life would have been brutally taken away in such a manner.”

 

The AGOK therefore appeals to the concerned authorities to take necessary action at the earliest so that justice may prevail.        

 

KYO: In its condemnation, the Khonoma Youth Organisation (KYO) stated that late Khate was a promising and hardworking young man and aspiring intellectual His death is not irreparable loss to the family and the people of Khonoma but also the Nagas in general and has a created a huge vacuum in the family, a press release from the KYO President Mhiesilhukho Yalie and General Secretary Mhiesisokho Chase stated. It meanwhile urged the concerned authorities to deliver punishment to the culprits at the earliest. The KYO further extended condolences to the bereaved family members.  

 

Khate clan: “Words fail us to fully express our anger and sorrow at this moment, as one of our precious brother is savagely snatched away from us. We condemn such cruelty and barbaric act with the highest degree,” stated Khate Clan president Dr Kobu Khate in a press release.

 

While appreciating the law enforcing agencies for the swift action in arresting three persons so far, the Clan further urged the law enforcing agencies to apprehend all the remaining accomplices and masterminds still at large and bring motive behind the heinous crime. This act deserves the severest punishment under relevant sections of the law, the release stated, further appealing for appropriate and immediate justice so that no such acts ever befall again on innocent citizens in future.

 

AMK: The Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho (AMK), apex body of all Angami women has expressed deep shock and pain over the alleged murder. “We are appalled and deeply anguished to learn that amongst the four culprits there were two women involved and one is yet to be apprehended and we are extremely agitated for such a delay of justice,” AMK President, Kevinourheno Seyie and General Secretary Shürhivino Nakhro stated in a condemnation note.

 

The AMK also urged upon the law enforcing agencies to investigate the matter and deliver justice at the earliest by awarding the “severest and exemplary punishment to all the culprits.” Further, the AMK said that under no circumstances, the arrested are freed under bail. The AMK also condoled the demise.

 

Thenuko Krotho: The Thenuko Krotho (Women Organisation) Kuda village in a strong condemnation note issued by Chairman, Kevi Nagi and Secretary, Zakieriavono Savino stated that it is deeply saddened at the loss and will not tolerate such act. It further urged the concerned authority to deliver justice at the earliest. The Krotho conveyed their deepest consolation to the bereaved family.
