Kohima, May 19 (MExN): Leaders All Blacks were back to winning ways as they registered a thumping 6-0 win over bottom of the league Silver White in the ongoing Morning Premier League at the Seikhazou Ground on Friday.
Following last week’s loss to Amur Falcons – their first loss of the tournament which had also brought to a stop their 9-game unbeaten run, the All Blacks had seen their lead atop the table reduced to a point. But on Friday, the leaders displayed no sign of slacking any further.
Azo opened the scoring in the 18th minute before converting a penalty in the final minutes of the first half as All Blacks led 2-0 at the interval.
After the restart, Silver White dug deep in an attempt to prevent more goals but four goals in 10 minutes late in the second half meant they have now conceded 61 goals from their 11 matches – an average of 5.5 goals per match.
Weku netted a brace scoring in the 75th and 79th minutes before Azo completed his hat-trick in the 84th minute. Akho then completed the rout two minutes later.
With 28 points from their 11 games, All Blacks pushed the lead on their nearest rivals, Power Comm, back to 4 points. Silver White remain bottom of the table with a solitary point.
