MUFCN beat MTLT in friendly football match

Mokokchung, September 11 (MExN): The much awaited friendly match between Manchester United Fan Club Nagaland (MUFCN) and Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) was successfully held at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung on Saturday, September 11, with MUFCN winning 5-3.   Though the rain gods tried to play spoilsport, the enthusiasm from both the teams was overwhelming as football lovers of Mokokchung witnessed the friendly match which was played on the theme “Eu Et Vigilanter” (Football for vigilance).   The match was officiated by the Mokokchung District Referees’ Association using the international FIFA rules, a press release informed.   The Mancunian fans completely dominated the first half scoring five goals with MTLT finding the back of the net just once. However, the MTLT team bounced back in the second half as they scored two more goals and the game ended 5-3. The Manchester United fans tried to enhance their goal tally but their efforts were hampered by the bad ground condition.   Two MUFCN players – Temsutoshi and Moasanen – received Yellow Cards for foul play during the match. MTLT President Imkummeren Jamir, during a brief award ceremony following the match, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the MUFCN team for playing the friendly match with the MTLT.   He also expressed gratitude to all the sponsors, the players and all those who have rendered their support towards the success of the match. He particularly expressed gratitude to the Mokokchung District Referees’ Association (MDRA) for officiating the match and also handed over a certificate of appreciation to the MDRA.   The MUFCN also handed a certificate of appreciation to the MTLT and wished the Telongjem the very best in their endeavors.
