Multi-Purpose Building inaugurated at Lazami

Pughoboto, December 3 (MExN): A Multi-Purpose Building was inaugurated at Lazami village under Pughoboto Division by MLA Y. Vikheho Swu.

A brief report on the construction of the building was given by Vikheto Swu during which the latter thanked the MLA on behalf of Lazami Village for looking into the long required need of Lazami village. Construction of the building was taken up and financed under LADP during 2014-15, 2015-16 & 2016-17 and also from MGNREGS.

One of the rooms of the building has been allotted to the Lazami Lazakito Students union while another room is allotted to the Indigenous Cultural Society for display of ancient artefacts from the village. The two storied building will also be an indoor recreational centre for the youths and there are plans to install various board games. Plans are also being laid to turn the building to a 3 storied building in the future. The construction site was a Boys Morung during the early years.

ADC Pughoboto Avelu Ruho expressed pleasure over the development and thanked the MLA for genuinely implementing and inducing developments under Pughoboto sub-division. She remarked that the building can be a centre for the youths to gather and learn about tradition and culture and a good facility to revive our culture.

MLA Y. Vikheho Swu stated that Lazami is the first village under the constituency to have constructed a multi-purpose building through LADP and termed the construction “one of the biggest achievements under LADP”.

He thanked the village elders and leaders for judiciously using the funds and for their concern to preserve artefacts of the village, educate the youths and revive tradition through construction of the building. The building, he added, should serve as an institute for the youths to learn and revive the rich tradition of the biggest Sümi Aphuyemi Village.
