The 11th edition of the annual Music Awards of Nagaland (MAN) is slated to be held on November 9 at Regional Centre of Excellence for Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma.


Speaking to media fraternity in a press conference here at The Shack Restaurant, Tajen Ao road, Dimapur, Native Trax Society (NTS), organizers of the MAN said this year’s edition will include a new category for cover songs.


While the NTS has been honoring remarkable local music makers with their originality, Imli Lee, member of the team said there has been a great rise in cover songs among the artistes. And hence, they decided to give it a shot.


This year will witness a total of 18 award categories ranging from local to pop fusion, Hindi, gospel etc. A cash prize of Rs 10,000 will be awarded. 


The artistes, recording studios, producers or their respective representatives are invited to submit their entries.


The organizers also informed that original compositions recorded within Nagaland and released anytime after November 1, 2018 are eligible for consideration and entry.

All entries are to be submitted either by email to musicanagland@gmail.com or via Whatsapp at 9089409715.  Entries can also be submitted in person at the office of Native Trax at NST colony, Circular Road, Dimapur.


Each entry must include: A signed and filled up entry form, an audio song or music video (or the audio or video link), lyrics (entries in Hindi/local dialect should include an English translation), Artiste/band profile with a photograph.

Instituted in the year 2009, the NTS said, so far the response has been positive. The Society has seen a lot of changes in terms of production too, said Mengu.


Stating that the MAN is a platform to recognize your talent, the team has invited all the musicians and artistes for nominations. 


This 11th edition will be held with the active support of the Task Force for Music & Arts led by Theja Meru, Advisor, TaFMA and Project Director, Dr Hovithal Soru.
