DIMAPUR, JANUARY 17 (MExN): The Merangkong Village Council (MVC) has condemned the attempt to “tarnish the image of its village” by circulating a forged communication purportedly issued by the Chairpersons of Chuchuyimlang and Merangkong Village Councils calling for bandh within the jurisdiction of Merangkong and Chuchuyimlang village beginning January 18.
A press note from the Merangkong Village Council stated that “although the motive of this act is best known to the perpetrator of the heinous crime, we appeal to all right thinking citizens of Nagaland to condemn this act and not be misled by such rumors.” It also asked law enforcing to catch the culprit at the earliest.
