Myanmar’s company chief surveys ways to import Nagaland products

Dimapur, August 29 (MExN): U Wang Yu, the Managing Director of Myanmar based Shwe Naung Yan Company, who is also a member of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), visited Dimapur. The purpose of Yu’s visit to Nagaland, according to a press release, was to survey how to import the products of Nagaland to Myanmar and vice versa and to give report to the UMFCCI for necessary action. It was also to remind the business community of Nagaland that as announced earlier there will be Border Trade Business Meet between 4 states of North-East India and Myanmar in the last week of September 2017 in Nay Pi Taw, Myanmar. In the meantime, the Managing Director lauded Neiphiu Rio for visiting Myanmar in 2013 when he was the Chief Minister of Nagaland. He had a talk with the Parliament Speaker, Union Minister of Myanmar, Mandalay Chief Minister and Sagaing Chief Minister and had built good relationship with Myanmar central government, stated Yu in the press release. He further hailed the second trip of Neiphiu Rio to Myanmar in June 2017 during which the Mandalay Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues, Mandalay Chamber of Commerce President, Tamu Border Trade President, Mandalay Embassy General Consular and his subordinates had interactions with him towards improvement of the border trade between Nagaland and Myanmar. The business delegation of Myanmar told him that it would be good if one of the ITCs located along the Nagaland-Myanmar could be fully developed at the earliest, the release added. Meanwhile, the Managing Director invited interested businesspeople from Nagaland to attend the Business Meeting scheduled to be held on November 10, 2017 in Yangon. The chief of the Shwe Naung Yan Company Myanmar also visited New Delhi on August 5. He had a meeting with some Delhi based businessmen.
