Dimapur | April 15
A seemingly peaceful evening in Tobu, Mon was interrupted by a mysterious blast on April 14. As per reports, it was a low intensity explosion that happened in the heart of Tobu town near an Assam Rifles camp at around 8:30 pm, Sunday. There was no report of any casualty however. The Assam Rifles, while confirming the incident, said that it was a “wax bomb,” an improvised crude bomb. The Assam Rifles PRO informed that the explosive was hurled on a road adjacent to a Company Operating Base (COB) of a unit of the Assam Rifles stationed in Tobu town. The office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tobu is located across the COB. “We are not sure who could be behind it,” the PRO said, while adding that it could be the “factions” or even petty troublemakers out for mischief. The situation in the town was said to be normal.
