NAAC Peer team visits KROS College

Kohima, September 2 (MExN): A 3-member NAAC Peer team visited KROS College on August 29 and 30. The peer team comprised of Prof Bishnu Charan Barik, former Vice-Chancellor of Sambalpur University, Orissa as the chairperson, Prof. Jagadeesha, Department of Studies & Research Commerce, Manasagangotri, Mysore as the member coordinator, and Dr. Vivek Kohli, Principal, Sohan Lal DAV College of Education, Ambala City, Haryana as the member.  

The peer team interacted with the various eight departments, members of the 17 committees, support services, faculty, staff, students, alumni and parents. Document verification and visits to the facilities of the college like the botanical gardens, zoo, rainwater harvesting, check dam, e-waste management, canteen, hostels, staff quarters and others were also done.  

On August 29, the team had a luncheon meeting with representatives of the Department of Higher Education, R. Tsalise Sangtam, Under Secretary, Dr. Nokhwenu Kirha, Deputy Director and Atula B. Aier, State NAAC Coordinator and representatives of Nagaland University, Dr. SK Sharma, Dean, SETAM Dimapur, Disability Patron, Diethono Nakhro and Dr Arenla Walling, District Nodal Officer NTCP.  

According to a press release issued by KROS College, Prof Bishnu Charan Barik appreciated Krosians saying that the college is just 6 years old and recommended to improve the Research and Consultancy Service. The chairperson handed over the Peer team report to the principal.
