Nabam Atum elected as vice-president of JDSSM

Dimapur, May 18 (MExN): Nabam Atum- veteran scholar and a committed social worker from Arunachal Pradesh has been unanimously elected recently, on a prestigious post of vice-president of Janajati Dharm Sanskriti Surakha Manch (JDSSM), operating in all the eight states of Northeast region including Sikkim.
A press note issued by Jaleswar Brahma, Secretary, informed that in a General Body Meeting of Manch held at Guwahati recently, the selfless service to the Civil Society and also as a state Government official in Arunachal Pradesh contributed by Nabam Atum was appreciated by one and all which elevated him to this prestigious post. The meeting was chaired by B.B. Jamatia, the President of Manch and graced by prominent social workers like Jagdeoram Uraon, Gunvant Singh Kothari and Somaiya Julu.
The note also stated that Nabam Atum was born to father- Nabam Epo and mother Naba Yeni on March 15, 1958 at Naharlagun. He shouldered various responsibilities as a worthy Goverment officer in the state Government of Arunachal Pradesh from 1977 onwards till his retirement on September 24, 2004 as the Chairman of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, Itanagar. Because of his hard-working nature, honesty and sweet and soft speaking habit and ever helping attitude, he got various opportunities to serve his people. He was District Information and Public Relation Officer (DIPRO), Ziro, Lower Subansiri district (1979 – 84), Chairman Dikrong Lamp Multipurpose Cooperative Society Doimukh (1984 onwards), Member Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Itanagar (1994 – 98) and Chairman Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Itanagar (1988 – 2004). After retirement from government service he rendered selfless service to the society as the President Arunachal Vikash Parishad, president Indigenous Faith and Culture Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) and vice-president, Ram Krishna Mission Hospital Managing Committee, Itanagar.
