NAGA DAY: Public notified on traffic regulations

Kohima, January 8 (MExN): In view of the NAGA DAY organized by the FNR on January 10 at Khouchiezie (Kohima Local Ground), the following traffic regulations shall be enforced from 8:00 AM onwards till the end of the programme.   Watichuchang Jamir, Addl. Superintendent of Police & PRO, Kohima in a press release has requested the general public to follow the regulations and render cooperation with the traffic police and volunteers on duty. 1. The road from TCP Gate to Keziekie is reserved for Parking for all delegates on first come first basis. 2. All buses carrying delegates shall be parked at Old Taxi Stand and Old NST. 3. The road leading from Razhu Point till Northern Gate of Local Ground and from Y-Junction till Congress Bhavan is reserved and no vehicle shall be allowed Parking in these areas. 4. No vehicle shall be allowed entry into the venue except for participants in the programme who will use the Northern Gate of the Local Ground facing UBC. 5. Delegates can enter the venue from both Northern and Southern Gates of the venue. 6. Traffic Police and Volunteers advises the participants to Car-pool and utilize parking in the specified areas judiciously as vehicle parking spaces are limited.  

FNR appeals

The Forum for Naga Reconciliation has requested all tribes involved in the preparation of food for Naga Day on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, to reach the North Gate (UBC) by 11:00 AM. Delegates are requested to be at the venue, Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground), by 09:30 AM. “We appeal to citizens of Kohima to kindly follow the traffic advisory issued by the Kohima Traffic Police in the interest of smooth operations on January 10. We request the citizens of the Capital to kindly cooperate and bear with any inconvenience caused during the day,” FNR added in a press note.
