Naga Hoho calls for support to ANSF & TCLPF

Kohima, August 12 (MExN): The Naga Hoho is upset with the present political scenario currently encountered by the Nagas in Arunachal Pradesh “created by different Indian agencies.”

However, “we cannot blame the Government of India (GoI) entirely as many of our own people are found to be working for petty personal interest leaving aside the Naga national interest,” stated the Naga Hoho today in a press release while taking serious note of how the Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG) served a ‘warning letter’ to the Arunachal Naga Students’ Federation (ANSF) when the latter attempted to organize a public consultation between the people and the Joint Secretary of Home Ministry, GoI to elucidate the Indo-Naga peace talks “vis-à-vis the recognition of unique identity of the Nagas.”

The Naga Hoho appealed to the Naga people in Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) areas to lend “fullest support” to ANSF and the TCL People’s Forum (TCLPF).

“The programme was arranged for the Naga people in TCL which could have benefited immensely and would have given a detailed idea on the inclusion of TCL areas in the ongoing peace talk,” observed the Naga Hoho’s Communication Cell today. The meeting was to be held on August 9 at Deomali but was cancelled following the ‘warning letter’ by “ENNG and various agencies that have been working against the interest of the Nagas to sabotage such programme.”

“The Naga political groups who are working in Arunachal Pradesh may have to strategize with renewed vision towards bringing the people together and to make them understand the essence of our inherent political rights for self determination. Political groups or cadres should not be an obstacles or terror for our own brothers and sisters, rather we must learn to live and work together on the basis of give and take in the interest of Naga people as a whole,” advised the Naga Hoho which reiterated its commitment to “bring all Nagas under the same roof with the spirit of oneness and to integrate all Naga Homeland.”

Stressing that a “crucial time has come for the Nagas wherever they are to take a stand and decide what is the best option for the Nagas, forgoing one’s own selfish interest, ambition and opportunity,” the Naga Hoho maintained that it is “ever ready and shall always facilitate towards the struggling leaders of ANSF and the people of TCL.”
