Naga Imperative: FNR

Naga Reconciliation: A Journey of Common Hope, though, gradual has travelled for 35 months, one month short of three years. During this time, some significant accomplishments have been contributed to the Naga peoples’ political and historical de facto.
Nothwithstanding, 9 meetings of the Naga political groups have been held outside the country and 51 within Nagaland, aimed at strengthening the reconciliation process in the last 35 months. The historic “Covenant of Reconciliation” (COR) was signed on June 13, 2009, by Mr. Isak Swu, Chairman, NSCN/GPRN; Mr. SS Khaplang, Chairman, GPRN/NSCN, and Brig (Retd) S Singnya, Kedaghe (President), FGN/NNC. The COR was affirmed 12 times in the Joint Working Group (JWG) level. In the historic meeting of September 18, 2010, Dimapur, Nagaland, the COR further committed to the process bearing the following:
“That, we are reconciled based on the ‘Historical and Political Rights of the Nagas,’ as outlined by the FNR on August 10, 2010, in the ‘ACROSS-the-BOARD: IPSO FACTO.’” (Signed: Mr. Th. Muivah, Ato Kilonser, NSCN/GPRN, Brig (Retd) S Singnya, Kedaghe, Mr. Kitovi Zhimomi, Ato Kilonser, GPRN/NSCN)
Along side, Naga organizations and the church have mandated, on September 25, 2008 (47 organizations), February 22, 2009 (45 organizations), August 26, 2010 (46 organizations), November 18, 2010 (40 organizations); the JWG (6 meetings) resolved that the meeting be held at the highest level, at the earliest. Furthermore, on November 18, 2010, 40 different Naga organizations and the church resolved that the meeting of the Highest Level be convened within 45 days with a decisive outcome.

In this connection, the FNR and the JWG request the Naga people and all others to pray from now at their convenient times; and the churches and prayer centres to arrange special prayer programs for the consummation of Naga reconciliation.
