Dimapur, September 9 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Union Kolkata (NSUK) celebrated the 53rd Annual Freshers’ Meet at Bishop’s College in Kolkata on September 8 under the theme “Refulgent Authenticity”.
L L Doungel former DGP Nagaland graced the occasion as the guest speaker, Thepuzo Keyho NSUK President in a release stated.
Doungel in his speech called upon the students to explore their interest and acquire knowledge which can benefit them in their career.
He said the students should be anxious to learn and acquire knowledge and then carve out the two-bits to become a refined individual citing the example of the great artist Michelangelo Buonarroti’s word that “Every block of stone has a statue inside and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.”
The guest speaker also encouraged the students to take advantage of the city as it offers ample opportunities and platforms to explore their interest.
He pointed that unlike other cities Kolkata offers an environment with less social distractions and for which he urged the student to discern the advantage wisely.
The NSUK President Thepuzo Keyho expounded on the theme “Refulgent Authenticity” and urged the students to be original and shine brightly with their authenticity.
He said “someone’s opinion of you does not have to be your reality, and the trend of the society should not define your contentment”.
Vile C Nywu and Tiajung Imsong were adjusted as Mr and Miss Freshers 2018 respectively.
Ranbeni Ngulie DRC Nagaland house Kolkata and Naga pastors were also present at the occasion. The program was chaired by Ngnmgolal.
