Naga wrestlers excel In 5th NTWFI Championship 2016

Won 7 Gold, 5 Silver and 4 Bronze Medals under 2 different events   Kohima, July 25 (MExN): Thirteen squad Naga wrestlers of the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) bagged 16 medals comprising of 7 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals at the recently concluded 5th NTWFI’s Traditional Wrestling & Pankration National Championship 2015-16, held in Pune from July 22 -24.   The championship was organized under the aegis of  the National Traditional Wrestling Federation of India (NTWFI). Approximately 800 wrestlers from 19 states of India took part in the championship.   According to a press statement issued by NWA General Secretary, Vekhozo Chakhesang, the 13 Naga wrestlers competing in the 2 separate events of Championship, namely Belt & MAS Wrestling Championship, won medals. Meanwhile, it further informed that the wrestlers along with the NWA officials led by NWA President, Neivikuolie Khatsu is returning to Nagaland on July 25 and is expected to reach Dimapur on July 28 midnight.
