KIPHIRE, September 3 (MExN): Co-inciding with the Sangtam Mungmung festival, 4th Kiumusu Memorial Volleyball Tournament kicked off today at Longthonger village, Kiphire.
Altogether, 12 teams are taking part in the tournament, which carries a total cash prize of Rs. 17,500. Dr. Dheni, District Epidemiologist, IDSP, Kiphire was a Special Invitee on the opening day.
Dr. Dheni, in his address, said that sports at the grassroots and community level can serve as a medium for creating an environment in which people can come together. While stating that sports has the potential to effect social change, he urged the players to never fail to exhibit the spirit of sportsmanship.'
