Nagaland BJP unit attends national executive meeting

Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nagaland unit president, Visasolie Lhoungu and organising secretary, Ananta Mishra attended All India Bharatiya Janata Party National Executive Meeting on May 14 in New Delhi.  

A press release from the Media Cell, BJP Nagaland unit stated that more than 200 BJP members including National BJP president, National office bearers, State in-charges, State presidents and all organising secretaries attended the meet.   Addressing the meeting, National president, Amit Shah said the service and sacrifice of many BJP workers since 1951 have lifted the party to the present position. It is imperative to honour and remember them, he stated. Shah further asserted that the party workers should work hard without neglecting organisational responsibilities. “Ours is to be in power not only 5 or 10 years but till we eradicate poverty from the country and deliver development to the weak and poorer sections of the people in the country,” he added.  

During the meet, planning and strategies were deliberated for each State on the parliamentary seats in view of all India 2019 election. It pointed out that 2163 MLAs out of 4120 MLAs in India were from the BJP government.  

It also highlighted that NDA government in four years has distributed 3.5 crores of LPG gas connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, LED bulbs under Ujala programme, and built over seven crores toilets across rural India under Swachh Bharat Mission, according to the release. The government also envisages building 50,000 lakhs houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and BJP office in all district headquarters and State office all over India, the release added.  

The meet also informed that the party will be organising a nationwide programme on the completion of four years Modi government on May 20.  

A minute silent prayer was observed in remembrance of senior BJP leader K Medom Angami, who passed away on May 11, 2018 in Dimapur.
