Nagaland: Chümoukedima area inter school meet concludes

Dimapur September 17 (MExN): A week-long inter school meet organised by Chümoukedima Town Students’ Union (CTSU) culminated on September 15 at 1st NAP Ground, Chümoukedima.  

Vikluto John NPS Commandant 1st NAP graced the closing ceremony as the patron and lauded the participants for exhibiting the spirit of competition and enthusiasm in the events organized.  

“Those who could not script victory on this occasion should not be disappointed but analyze their performance and set out on a further mission,” the speaker said and added that winners and runners-up has only fraction difference.  

He further urged the participants not only to focus on academics but be more versatile and treat games and sports with equal importance.  

“I believe all of you will continue to strive for excellence in the discipline you have already displayed a great deal of promise,” the speaker encouraged.  

The week-long event was participated by 24 schools comprising of both high school and higher secondary schools within Chümoukedima area.  

The overall champion of the event went to St Joseph Higher Secondary School Chümoukedima.  

Patkai Higher Secondary School emerged as the champion for football (senior) and Mt Mary Higher Secondary School was the champion of football (junior).  

Shikinah High School won the volley (girls) and St Joseph Higher Secondary School and NPCS won the Tug of war (junior girls) and (Tug of war boys) respectively.  

Patkai Higher Secondary School and St Gabriel Higher Secondary School emerged as the champions for the marathon race.  

Earlier in the program, a march pass contingents from various schools displayed a magnificent marching along with the 1st NAP Band. The welcome address was delivered by Thepfuvikuo Sechu, Vice President CTSU.
