NAGALAND: Dept of Social Welfare implements PMMVY

Dimapur, January 4 (MExN): Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is a maternity benefit scheme implemented by Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland. It is a conditional cash transfer (DBT) scheme of Rs. 5000 for pregnant women and lactating mothers of 19 years of age and above for the ‘first live birth’ to be paid in three installments. Forms will be available at Anganwadi Centres and/or CDPO’s office. 

According to a press release issued by Bonathung Ngullie, District Programme Officer, Dimapur the first installment of Rs 1000 at time of registration of pregnancy with nearest Anganwadi Centre. The second installment of Rs. 2000 after attendance of at least one ante-natal check-up (ANC), IFA tablets and TT injection and counselling session at Anganwadi Centre and the third installment of Rs. 2000 after registration of birth, immunisation of child at 6 and 10 weeks (first cycle).

Documents to be submitted (photocopies) include: AADHAAR cards of both husband and wife (beneficiary); beneficiary’s Bank Account in her name; Mother and Child Protection Card (MCP) after registration at Govt. health centre; birth certificate of child (at time of 3rd installment and institutional birth).

Scheme is for first pregnancy for women above 19 years age. Scheme can be availed by women whose LMP was two years from present date.
