Principals and School headmasters appealed for proper implementation of educational programme and activities

A three-day long training programme on ‘School leadership for headmasters and principals’ got underway here today at DUDA conference Hall under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland.


Addressing the introductory session, School Education Director Wonthungo Tsopoe acknowledged the importance of school leadership training programme as education is dynamic where new requirements and challenges of education emerges frequently. He admitted that education department is subjected to constant evaluation by different agencies as education is the most vital factor in the society.


He appealed the school headmasters and principals present in the session not to be complacent but work hard to improve the quality of education at school level by introducing innovative practices and proper implementation of educational programme and activities.


Tsopoe also reminded the school heads to constantly evaluate the status of school performance.


He reminded the school administrators that the core objectives of school management is not result oriented approach but to make good human being and reminded them  about the huge responsibilities each school administrators have towards society.


He told the teachers not to be confined only in our comfort zone but “we should indulge ourselves in other activities too.”


It is not easy to be a teacher but we should know how to tackle it, he said.


He also stressed on the need to have more counseling and guidance activities.


We as educator we should know about our students and their personal problems, family background as in whole the overall psychology, the director said.


“Our department is not only just as result oriented department but we should go beyond that,” he said.


What kind of responsible citizens are we going to make?, he said adding that the society expects a lot from teachers.
He told the teachers that respect is earned and that “we have to earn with our effort and work.”


“Let us all try to shape our students in such a way that they spread good moral to our society, he said and at the same time asked them to build a conducive atmosphere wherever they are posted.


Tsopoe also urged the school heads to ensure protection of government properties such as school buildings and school land from land encroachment.


The school heads were told to promptly report the matter to the government for timely action.


Delivering keynote address, Dr. Kevizakie Rio, joint mission Director Samagra Shiksha said that the training module was designed for two ways interaction between resource and participants and amongst the participants through presentations on good school practices.


Kelhikha Kenye, Assistant Mission Director Samagra Shiksha & programme coordinator chaired the introductory session.


The three days school leadership programme is organized for 50 government school headmasters and principals.
