Nagaland to get first professional college

Engineering College Foundation stone laid at Tsurangsa

Mokokchung, December 13 (MExN): Deputy Chief Minister, Home, Road & Bridges, Y Patton laid the foundation stone of the Professional College (Engineering College) at Tsurangsa, Mokokchung district on December 12.

A DIPR report stated that the Deputy Chief Minister lauded Minister for Higher & Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along for his tireless dedication in bringing about to set up a professional college which is first of its kind in our state. He also hoped that the institute will produce many young professionals of our state. 

Short speeches were also delivered by Minister for Higher & Technical Education and Tribal affairs TemjenImna Along, Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung Limawapang Jamir NCS and vote of thanks proposed by Additional Director& HOD Higher Education Dr. Apeni Lothario. 

Joint Director Higher Education and State Project Officer (RUSA), Menuokholie Kire while giving a brief introduction about the project stated that the total cost of the project is 26 crores and the funding pattern will be 90:10 i.e. 90 will be by the Ministry of HRD (RUSA) and 10 will be state government share. 

The programme was chaired by Joint Secretary Department of Higher & Technical Education, Nungsangmenla Imchen. 
Presentation of cultural song and items by Japu Watsu unit, Dibuia Cultural Club and Longpayimsen cultural troupe were the highlights of the day long programme.
