Nagaland to host first ever Hip-hop Festival

From small shows and concerts to a hip-hop festival for the first time ever in Nagaland, the 1st Nagaland Hip-hop Festival is happening on August 17 at the RCEMPA, Jotsoma. 


This exclusive event is bringing popular hip-hop artists- Rap, Beatbox, BMX, Dance crews and DJ artists like Kendra & Atiro, Rucks, ITS Poland, Tommy, Otto, Macnivil, Matt Lia, Big Dane, M Dox, TS Genesis, LC Sekhose, Tribal Cult, Moko Koza, Dexterian and DJ-CJ Gurung. The Kohima Orphanage Destitute Home will also be giving special performance. 

 


This was announced at a press conference here in Kohima today. 

 


“Apart from popular music genres, hiphop artists in Nagaland that has been expressing itself in smaller shows and concerts is going to take hip-hop expression to a bigger platform,” the organizers said. They also hope to keep the mood alive and organize more hip-hop shows in the coming months. 


This hip-hop festival is themed “Inception”- the beginning of something big and is being initiated by Table 3. It is a drive to not only provide platform for young upcoming artists but also showcase a reverse and positive message to the society. 


The ticket of the show is Rs 100 and to and fro free bus services will be given with pickups from various points. Pickups with start at 4:00 pm and the show will begin at 5:00 pm. Tickets are available in Kohima at FIFA restaurant, Coz Hyundai, Mom & I Cafe and in Dimapur at Funky Buddha restaurant. Donors or sponsors ticket is Rs 2000 which include a lot of perks.
