Resource speaker with NIM members and students and faculty of Ecclesia Theological College & Seminary after the three-day seminar held at the college premises.

 

Dimapur, December 1 (MExN): The Nagaland Interserve Ministry (NIM) organized three-day seminar on Counseling Skills at the Ecclesia Theological College & Seminary (formerly called Withee Bible College).


Dr BJ Prashantham, Professor of Counseling Psychology & Director, Institute of Human Relation Counseling & Psychotherapy, CCC Vellore, a renowned psychologist and professor, 50 years of professional experience as a trainer and supervisor of many counselors and an international consultant was the resource speaker. Altogether 110 delegates attended. 


A press release from the Seminary stated on the first day, the speaker spoke on Jesus’ style of counseling coupled with seven principles of holistic approaches addressing the whole person (Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual) aspects of healing. 


The second day was dedicated to teaching skills of counseling where responding, initiating and action facilitating skills were introduced, explained and elaborated. 


The third day was based on the importance of referral counseling, counseling to different age groups and how to self care so as to prevent burn-outs. 


Special emphasis was also given to Alcoholism, its approaches and its treatment options. The overall three-day seminar proved to be a challenge for every attendee, the release stated.


Every attendee had the privilege to mingle with each other and share, as exercises were followed after every topic with intervals coupled with popcorn feedbacks and questions. The seminar was practical oriented with lavish and extensive illustrations from the Bible and own life experiences. 


Khevili Jakhalu, Counselor NIM gave the introduction. Kitoli, Board Member NIM gave the vote of thanks. The seminar concluded with the presentation and the benediction prayer offered by Reverend Dr Vikheshe Chishi, Founder, Ecclesia Theological College & Seminary.
