Nagaland: Khriekesa FC lift district level Capt Kenguruse Tournament

Khriekesa FC today defeated Nerhema Village FC via tie-breaker 3-2 after the match ended in 1-1 draw to lift the champion title of Capt. (Late) N.Kenguruse District Level Football Tournament, Kohima 2018 here, organized by organized by 3rd (Naga Hills) Battalion, Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North).  

The champions Khriekesa FC walked home with Rs. 25,000 along with trophy and citation while runner-up Nerhema Village FC received Rs.15,000.  

Medophrezo Kezieo of Nerhema Village FC received the golden glove award.  

In the match, Kekhrieletuo of Nerhema Village FC opened the scoring through a spot kick conversion in the 12th minute.  

With the match ending in favour of the team, Achamo broke the deadlock in the 90th minute to equalise the scoreline for Khriekesa FC.  

Maintaining 1-1 draw even after allotted extra time, the match was decided through penalty shootout in which Khriekesa FC emerged victorious against the opponent Nerhema village FC 3-2.  

Brigadier Sandeep Sharada, Deputy Inspector General, HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles graced the occasion as the special guest.
