The third edition of Morning Champions Cup (MCC) organized by the Morning Football Association (MFA) will begin on the 3th of September 2018. This one and half month long tournament is played in a group and knockout round basis. MCC is held every year after Morning Premier League (MPL) where the relegated teams of MPL cannot participate in MCC.
The players, who participate, are all above 30 years of age. In line with the MFA motto, the organisers stated that the focus of the MFA is to create a platform for retired football players “who still have the urge to kick the ball and also maintain one’s health as well as associating with new friends.”
The tournament has no cash prize and is solely sponsored by the players. This year, the 3rd Assam Rifles are donating goal net and footballs, the organisers said.
