Nagaland MRVC reaches 96% coverage

Mon District first in State to achieve 100% vaccination

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 13 (MExN): As the Nagaland Measles and Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC) draws to an end, ninety six percent of targeted children between 9 months and 15 years have been successfully vaccinated without any reports of Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI).   A press note from State Immunisation Officer, Dr Atoshe Sema informed that 4,29,851 children have been immunized through 3,011 school and 2,401 outreach sessions, as per report received on November 12.   With only a few days left before the campaign is officially concluded, the press note urged parents who have still not vaccinated their children to proceed to the nearest government health facility at the earliest.   “MR vaccine will be available only under Routine Immunization after the Campaign for children upto 2 years, hence those children who are yet to receive MR vaccine will not be able to avail it after the campaign is over,” it informed.   The department asked the few children who are yet to be vaccinated to come forth for vaccination at the earliest.   “Let us be progressive responsible citizens and keep measles and rubella – just a memory by immunizing your children today,” it added.
