Tenyimia tribes endorse CNTC, Ao Senden  statement on Naga Hoho


Kohima, August 21 (MExN): A meeting of the tribal organizations under the banner of Tenyimia was held in the APO Hall, Kohima on August 21. Besides various issues deliberated, the meeting resolved to issue a statement on the Naga Hoho confirming that the five Tenyimia tribes viz Angami, Chakhesang, Rengma, Pochury and Zeliang endorse the decisions of both the CNTC and the Ao Senden which were earlier made public through the media. This was stated in a press release issued by KT Vilie, Vice president, Angami Public Organization (APO). 

 

RPI (A) expels one 

Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): The Republican Party of India (A) Nagaland State Committee has expelled Diana Swu, a state committee member from both primary and active member of RPI (A) Nagaland State. This was informed in a press release issued by its General Secretary, Haisui Zeliang. Hence, any individual or group dealing with Swu regarding finance, projects and alike in the name of RPI(A) will be doing so on his/her own risk and will have nothing to do with the party both in state and center, it added.

 

Kohima police intercepts truck with suspected contraband

Kohima, August 21 (MExN): Kohima Police personnel manning the Khuzama Inter-State police check gate intercepted a truck proceeding towards Dimapur from Manipur. According to press release from PRO, DEF, Kohima, a thorough check of the vehicle led to recovery of approximately six kg of suspected contraband opium (powder form) and 250 packets (each packet containing 180 nos) of WY tablets concealed underneath the driver’s seat. The driver of the vehicle identified as Arbas Khan (19 years), resident of Usoipokpi village, Thoubal district, Manipur was arrested and the contraband along with the vehicle was seized. In this connection, a regular case under NDPS Act has been registered for further investigation. The seized opium along with the tablets are estimated to be worth 1.5 crore in the international market.

 

WSH to tour Sumi inhabited areas

Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) will be touring all the Sumi inhabited areas in its sector starting from August 24 in order to get in touch with its people and deal with various socio-economic problems, land reforms etc which Sumis have been facing for quite a while. Media Cell, WSH in a press statement said that there is an urgent need for bringing reforms and changes every sphere from the grassroots level and see that implementation of various governmental schemes and from the comforts of their four walled rooms and publishing in the print media will not get any tangible result unless we reached out to the grassroots level, hence the tour. The Hoho office bearers along with its executives will be undertaking this intensive tour which will conclude in the September, it added.
