DC Kohima notifies on social work

Kohima, November 21 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming Hornbill Festival 2019, the Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie NCS has informed that there will be a mass social work on November 23, from 6:00 am to 12:00 Noon involving the Kohima District Administration, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and all shop owners within Kohima Municipal area. In this regard, all the business establishment will remain closed till 12:00 noon. It also informed that all the building owners and shop keepers will paint/white wash their respective shops and put up light decorations and proper signboards apart from cleaning their respective surroundings. Therefore all concerned have been requested to take active part for successful conduct of the social work.

 

Governor mourns demise of Prof Alexander

Kohima, November 21 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland and Visitor, ICFAI University Nagaland, RN Ravi has expressed shock on the sudden demise on Professor CP Alexander, Vice- Chancellor, ICFAI University Nagaland on November 21 in Dimapur after suffering a severe stroke. Professor Alexander was a prominent academician with vast administrative experience who has contributed tremendously toward the growth of the University, a condolence from PRO to Governor stated. “It is a great loss for the Academic Fraternity and in his death a huge void has been created which will take long time to fill up.” Governor Ravi conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed to “Almighty God to grant solace and fortitude at this hour of great pain.” The send off service will be held on November 22, 9:00 am at ICFAI University, Nagaland campus, 6th mile Sovima.

 

Unidentified dead body

Kohima, November 21 (MExN): An unidentified dead body of a non-local male aged between 30 to 35 years, fair complexion was recovered on November 20 from Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) lying near the registration counter. PRO, Kohima Police in a press release informed the deceased is approximately 5 ft. 5 inch in height, wearing black trousers and grey jacket. The body of the deceased is kept at South Police Station morgue for identification. JCWF Ward-3 & Ward-22 formed

Dimapur, November 21 (MExN): A Joint Council meeting with respective Chairmen, GBs and Council Members of ward-3 and ward-22, Burma Camp was held on November 10 at Niu Colony Council Hall, Dimapur. The joint council decided to form a welfare forum, named as Joint Council Welfare Forum (JCWF) Ward-3 and Ward-22. A press release from the Forum stated the office bearers will be led by Zasivikho Zakiesato as Convener, Chairman of Naga Colony (Ward-3); Kisheto Katty as Co-Convener, Chairman of Niu Colony (Ward-22); Makhuran Rongmei as General Secretary, Vice Chairman of Namgailong Colony (Ward-22); Kosi Rao as Information and Publicity Secretary, Chairman of UNB-A (Ward-3) along with three other members and four advisors.
