Sainik School Punglwa achieves 100% pass result Peren, June 5 (MExN): Sainik School Punglwa secured 100% pass result in the class X CBSE examination, the result for which was declared recently. “All 104 students, who appeared in the examination, have passed with flying colours,” stated a press release from the school. One student scored 10 CGPA and other 13 cadets secured 9 CGPA and above, it added. “A pass rate of 100% is something to be really celebrated. Students and staff have worked incredibly hard over the past year and the Sainik School Punglwa is really proud of its results,” principal of the school, Gp Capt Sanjay Gaekwad expressed.   AR apprehend NSCN (K) cadre Zunheboto, June 5 (MExN): Troops of 5 Assam Rifles apprehended one NSCN (K) cadre named Kughavi Ayemi, Under Secretary, Central Staff on June 4. A press release from Assam Rifles alleged that one .22 mm pistol was recovered from him. The AR further accused him of involving in tax collection in Aghunato region, Zunheboto district. The apprehended cadre along with the recovered items was handed over to Zunheboto Police Station for further investigation on June 5, it added.   Excise seize liquor Dimapur, June 5 (MExN): The Excise Mobile Squad Special Surveillance Team seized 310 bottles of assorted liquor from the possession of one Avinash at Burma Camp, Dimapur on June 5. The accused has been booked under relevant section of NLTP Act, '89 and the seized articles deposited in the Excise Mobile Squad Malkhana, informed a press release from Katoho Sumi, Superintendent of Excise (MS).   RTO Kohima informs Kohima, June 5 (MExN): The Regional Transport Officer, Kohima has in a press release informed all the citizens who have not collected the Smart Card for vehicle registration certificate and driving license from the office of the Regional Transport Officer, Kohima to collect the same during any government office working days.   Scheme for establishment of college for deaf Kohima, June 5 (MExN): Under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Department of Empowerment for Persons with Disabilities, Government of India, a Central Sector Scheme of ‘Establishment of College for Deaf in each of the Five Regions of the Country’ has been earmarked during the XII Plan Period. Details of the scheme are available at www.disabilityaffairs.gov.in. A press note issued by T. Merangtsungba Aier, Director, Social Welfare has informed that interested NGOs affiliated to the UGC approved universities may apply as per the guideline through proper channel at the earliest.   AR organise lecture on women empowerment Tseminyu, June 5 (MExN): 28 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised a lecture on women empowerment at Tseminyu on May 30. The lecture delivered by COB Commander of Tseminyu was attended by 22 women and 18 men of surrounding villages of Tseminyu. According to a press release from Assam Rifles, number of important issues pertaining to women empowerment was discussed during the lecture. Theodore Yanthan, ADC, Tseminyu, Wiashu Thyu, Vice President and Ruth Thong, General Secretary, Rengma Mothers’ Association of Tseminyu region also attended the lecture.   Awareness on blood donation held in Mon Mon, June 5 (MExN): Voluntary Blood Donor Association Mon organized an awareness programme on blood donation with Konyak Baptist Church Mon youth department on June 4. Dr. Ngampa, MO, District Hospital Mon was the resource person. He presented PowerPoint on importance of blood donation, functions of blood and its necessities in life, and also health and free check up benefits. He encouraged the youths of KBCM to be saviour of life, a press release received here stated.   Dogs vaccinated, treated Medziphema, June 5 (MExN): A free mass rabies vaccination camp under ASCAD 2016-17 was held in the office of the Principal, Veterinary Field Assistant Training Institute (VFATI), Medziphema on May 27. A total of 264 dogs were vaccinated and 15 dogs were treated for various skin diseases, informed a press release from Dr. Nsanthung Ezung, Principal, VFATI.   Family seminar held in Medziphema Medziphema, June 5 (MExN): The Medziphema Town Ao Baptist Church conducted ‘Family Seminar’ from June 2–4, through the initiative of Women Ministry (Tetsür Telongjem Luden) and sponsored by ‘The Good Samaritan Misssion’ MTABC. A separate session was held for the fathers, mothers and youth during the seminar. Focusing on the theme, the speaker Sentisashi Aier, Associate Pastor, KABA spoke on many topics relevant to the present time, informed a press release. He urged the congregation to live with enthusiasm in all aspects of their day to day life. Around 97 fathers and mothers attended the seminar.   New team of NMYO for 2017-19 Kohima, June 5 (MExN): A new team of New Market Youth Organization (NMYO) for the tenure 2017-19 has been announced with Vikholie Yiese as President, Stephen Neitho Solo- Vice President, Zhaphi Kehie- General Secretary, Neilhoukhonuo Solo- Joint Secretary, Er. Mhasivinuo Rote- Cultural Secretary, Sweyievikho Mekro- Games and Sports Secretary, Vitseituo Khezhie- Statistical Secretary, Khrieketoulie Metha- Publicity and Information Secretary, Dakho Rhezhü- Finance Secretary and Kevineinuo Rame- Treasurer. The outgoing team has been requested to hand over the charge and files on or before June 10. In his acceptance speech, Vikholie Yiese assured to work for the better of the youth organization and solicited support and cooperation from the New Market colony. The new team was blessed upon with a special prayer by Kruzo Rutsa, Deacon, UCRC New Market.
