More illegal liquor seized

Dimapur, January 28 (MExN):
In another major haul of illegal liquor, the MVCP duty party of the 37th Assam Rifles recovered 369 (bottles/cans) of assorted IMFL/beer at Piphema NH-29, Dimapur on January 27 from a maruti alto bearing registration no. NL-01-T6862. In this regard, two accused persons namely Manoj Tamang and Paukile Zeliang were arrested and handed over to the Excise department. Superintendent of  Excise and Prohibition, KY Sangtam in a press release stated that a case has been registered under the NLTP Act 1989 and further investigation is on.

Naga Council meeting on Feb 8

Dimapur, January 28 (MExN):
The Naga Council has informed all councilors that a consultative meeting will be held on February 8 at 11:00 am at Unity Hall, Naga Council. NCD general secretary Ntsemo Ngullie in a press release has requested all concern to attend the meeting without fail.

Renewal date for registered societies extended

Kohima, January 28 (DIPR):
In continuation of the Home Department’s Notification of even number dated June 28, 2013, the Government extended the date for submission of applications of Registered Societies for renewal purpose (for those Societies who have lapsed for renewal) up to 28th February 2014. Other terms and conditions remained the same. This was issued in a notification by the Home Department Societies Registration Cell, Government of Nagaland.

 

NEZCC present cultural prog

Kohima, January 28 (DIPR):
The 65th Republic Day celebration at Kohima saw cultural presentations by various cultural troupes from different communities, as part of the entertainment programme during the morning programme at the Secretariat Plaza. Organised under the aegis of the NEZCC, the cultural troupes included the Lotha Senthan Cultural Club presenting the ‘Mungyanta’ Harvest Dance, the Nagarjari Sanskrity Kendra presenting a Bihu dance and the Dimasa Kachari Cultural troupe that presented the Bai Maijai-Dance of Plate by the Kachari community.

A promo on 50 years of Statehood of Nagaland was presented by the Department of Information & Public Relations on 65th Republic Day. A video showcasing from the momentous Sunday morning, December 1, 1963, when the President of India Dr. S. Radhakrishnan formally declared Nagaland a full-fledged State in the Indian Union, up to the present. The video promo encapsulates Nagaland and its people, the strides made in various sectors and the immense potentials of the State, which is mostly evidenced in its youth. The priceless archive footage and a glimpse of the past from the Films Division, Ministry of I&B. The film was produced by the Department of Information & Public Relations.
