St Francis Xavier’s Church Kidima Observes Epiphany/Magi

KOHIMA, JANUARY 3 (MExN): St Francis Xavier’s Church Kidima, Diocese of Kohima observed Epiphany/Magi with rest of the world on Sunday, January 3. Reverend Father Raymond D’ Souza SJ, Director of Eden Garden, Khuzama was the Main Celebrant at  the Church premises some 32 km away from state capital.  Reverend Father Raymond D’ Souza SJ explained the purpose of Epiphany celebration was with faith. Epiphany was the revelation of Jesus to Gentile who were non believers, he said. “The great star appeared in the sky and led Magi to witness Jesus new born child the King of the Universe,” Father Raymond D’Souza said. He called upon the gathering to seek God with sincerity and in return receive joy and happiness in life. Special number was presented by Edikunu Patricia, Eyopile Monica and Keduhole Teresa. Holy Mass celebration, enchanting Gloria followed by Rosary prayer were highlights of the daylong celebration. The Priest also explained the traditional practices of the Catholic faith in the different seasons of the liturgical calendar.

 

Tovihoto condoles

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 3 (MExN): MLA and Chairman NIDC Ltd, Tovihoto Ayemi, today expressed sadness at the passing away of Late I. Pihoto Awomi, who was the advisor of NPF 1 Dimapur I AC till the time of his last breath. “His sincere contributions towards the uplift and functioning of the party at all times are immense and it would be difficult for anybody to fill the vacuum that has been created due to his untimely demise. He also extensively worked for the welfare of business community and the different business associations/committees particularly the Hazi Park Business Committee bears witness to it,” said a press note from the MLA. He stated that Awomi has left behind a legacy of remarkable contributions during his stint as a DMC Councillor. At this hour of grief, I pray that the Almighty grant strength and solace to the bereaved family and relatives and also pray for the departed soul to rest in peace, he said.
