Dimapur Press Club condoles

Dimapur, January 8 (MExN): Dimapur Press Club has expressed deep pain over the demise of photojournalist Sorei Mahong’s father, M. Tuithing, who passed away on January 8 in Dimapur. “Words are not enough to comfort the bereaved family in this hour of grief yet it is our humble prayer that the Almighty God gives strength to the family,” stated a condolence note issued by Dimapur Press Club. The members of DPC further expressed their heartfelt sympathy, while wishing that the family take solace from the exemplary life left behind by late Tuithing.

KPC offers condolences

KOHIMA, JANURY 8 (MExN): The Kohima Press Club has expressed its deepest condolences at the demise of M. Tuithing, father of Sorei Mahong, who died on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 after a prolonged illness. Expressing its deepest sympathy to the bereaved family, it has prayed that God grant them solace in this time of grief.  

SKK year-long platinum
jubilee starts Jan 15


Dimapur, January 8 (MExN): The Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SKK) will be observing a year-long Platinum Jubilee celebration from January 2014-January 2015 under the theme, “A glorious generation.” The Jubilee celebration will kick-start on January 15 at Imulomi village where the first Sumi students’ conference was held in 1940. A press release from Media & Publicity Cell, SKK Planning Board Platinum Jubilee informed that Justice H. Khetoho Sema, retired Supreme Court Judge, who was also the 6th President of SKK (1965-66) will unveil the jubilee monolith. All former SKK office bearers, advisors and well wishers have been invited to join in the celebration.

Weekly market opens
at Bamunpukhuri-II


Dimapur, January 8 (MExN): Jaosu Weekly Market has started at Bamunpukhuri-II situated at East Dimapur, about 12 kms away from the main town. The market, which commenced on January 8, included livestock items such as cattle, goat, duck, chicken etc, as well as vegetables, garments, handicrafts, handloom and other essential commodities. According to a press release issued by Convenor Dharam Girisa, the main objective of establishing the market is to bring relief to the villagers and the people of the area from going a long way to the city to get their essential commodities as well as to provide an open market for the local farmers, womenfolk, SHGs etc, where they can trade their self-manufactured goods. The market will be open every Wednesday.

ZAPO general session

Dimapur, January 8 (MExN): The Zuketsa Area Public Organization’s (ZAPO) 41st general session will be held on January 11, 10:30 am at ZAPO Hall, Zuketsa. Director of Geology & Mining SK Kenye; retired deputy commissioner Mikha Lomi; and secretary, I & P, Nagaland Tribes Council, Theja Therieh will be session speakers. Therefore, ZAPO general secretary, Kewekope Marhu has requested all the executive members, ZAPO unit officials, gazette officers and public leaders to attend the meeting.
