KBTCBC receives Blyth’s Tragopan

Kohima, February 11 (MExN): The Kohima Blyth’s Tragopan Conservation & Breeding Centre has received a pair of Blyth’s Tragopan from a well wisher Er. Krosü Rhetso, deputy chief engineer PWD from Viswema village.
“The deed of our well wishers is very much appreciated and would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to him and his family,” said Keneikrül, in-charge officer Kohima Blyth’s Tragopan Conservation & Breeding Centre, Kohima, Nagaland. He encouraged other friends from Nagaland to be more environment friendly and come up with their own innovative ideas to conserve our dwindling flora and fauna.

Power supply to be affected

Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): The Department of Power, office of the executive engineer Dimapur, electrical division has informed that due to strengthening of 11kv line at Purana bazaar and Airport feeder, the power supply will be affected from 7:00 am to 11:00 am from February 13 to 15. The affected areas include Walford, Purana Bazar, Padam Pukhri, Naharbari, Aoyimti, Airport, 3rd Mile, Chekiye, Thilixu and 4th Mile Diphupar. Dimapur Electrical division EE Moameren in a press release has requested all esteemed consumers to bear with the inconvenience.

Chumukedima public asked
to attend meeting on Feb 13


Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): All the public of Chumukedima town and around have been reminded to attend the proposed general public meeting scheduled to be held on February 13, 9:00 am at Saturday Weekly Market, Chumukedima Town. Chumukedima Chamber of Commerce and Trade Association (CCCTA) president, Avi Chase in a press release further requested for at least one representative from each household to attend the meeting. All the shops are to be remained shut during the meeting, and all the shopkeepers and owners are compulsory for the meeting, the release added.

Lower Chandmari
residents informed


Kohima, February 11 (MExN): The Panchayat Lower Chandmari Colony (PLCC) has informed all the residents of Lower Chandmari to kindly bear the inconvenience caused by the ongoing construction of landslide area. In a press release, PLCC informed that the road leading to GMS via St. Joseph School will be closed for some time, while vehicles will be allowed to ply the one way road from T Junction as per timetable framed by the colony: Morning (Going out of the colony) – 12:30 am to 12:30 pm, Evening (Entry inside the colony) – 12:30 pm to 12:30 am. Vehicle owners and pedestrians have been requested to co-operate with the colony till the completion of the work.   

WSSU condemns school ‘fraud’

Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) has strongly condemned the “fraud” committed by the principal cum proprietor of Blooming Bud Montessori School, “whereby jeopardizing the career of the students who were going to appear for the HSLC exam by taking the admission of the students without registering at NBSE.” In a press release appended by its president, Atokiho Sumi and general secretary, Aito Chishi, WSSU alleged that the principal gave “false promises” of issuing admit card to the students before their exam, but the examination has already started on February 11. The union has appealed to the police and administration to take stern action against the accused to set an example and to nip such practices from our society. It also appreciated the police for swiftly arresting the accused following an FIR lodged by the union on February 10. WSSU further extended its fullest co-operation and urged the government and the department concerned to check such frauds, “who are murdering the future and dreams of our students.” 

DLSA Mon to conduct Lok Adalak

Kohima, February 11 (MExN): The District Legal Service Authority Mon in collaboration with State Bank of India (SBI), Mon is conducting Lok Adalat, particularly for loan beneficiaries under Mon to avail one time settlement as offer by SBI, on February 25, 10:30 AM at DLSA frontal office, Mon. Stating this in a release, Neiko Kanuo, ADSJ & secretary DLSA Mon has asked all concerned to avail the opportunity without fail.

AR apprehends arms peddlers

Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): Troops of 29 Assam Rifles apprehended two arms dealers along with one 7.65 mm pistol and one magazine with two live rounds of 7.65 mm on February 6, 2014. According to a press release issued by Assam Rifles, the accused have been identified as Motsuthung Lotha, resident of Supply Colony, Dimapur and W James Singh, resident of Singjamei Distict, Imphal West Manipur. The apprehended persons were handed over to West Police Station, Dimapur, it added.
