Reckless driver causes traffic chaos

dimapur, March 24 (MExN):A reckless driver, out for a joyride, almost caused a major road disaster in Dimapur on Monday evening. The driver, identified as one Aungavi, hit three vehicles and a rickshaw before traffic police caught up on the Maruti Alto (NL 05C 2249) he was driving. Fortunately no one was injured, while the driver escaped with minor injury.  According to the traffic police, the mayhem started at the Tragopan point where the Maruti Alto sped off towards Kher Mahal after hitting a vehicle. It hit two more vehicles and a rickshaw before coming to a halt near Holy Cross Higher Secondary School. The last car it hit was a police vehicle.  The driver was in an inebriated state, traffic police said.

NSSATA calls emergency meeting

Kohima, March 24 (MExN): Nagaland SSA Teachers' Association (NSSATA) has called an emergency meeting on March 27, 2014 at Ungma Kiti, Old Minister's Hill, Kohima above Hotel Cimorb at 11:00 am. All the district unit executive members are mandatory to attend the meeting, stated a press release issued by NSSATA general secretary Samina Meru and president Visechol Chaya. Therefore, the district units have been informed to reach the meeting venue on time.  

AAY food grains release of Kohima centre

Kohima, March 24 (MExN): The AAY food grains of Kohima centre for two months will be released from March 25 to 27 between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. Therefore, Assistant Director, Food & Civil Supplies, Kohima has directed all FPS/ Village Councils concerned to collect their respective quota within the stipulated time.

Peren dist 2nd round of
training on March 29


Peren, March 24 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Peren has informed all polling personnel drafted for 16th Lok Sabha election duty under Peren district that the 2nd round of training will be on March 29 at the Local Ground, Peren Town at 11:00 am. Therefore, all have been directed to attend the same without fail.

CEO Nagaland to inaugurate Voters Awareness Campaign

Kohima, March 24 (DIPR): Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, Sentiyanger Imchen (IAS) will inaugurate the 3-day Voters' Awareness Campaign on 26th March,2014 at the Red Cross Conference Hall, Kohima at  10 a.m. The photo exhibition campaign on Voter Awareness is being organized by the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) in collaboration with Election Commission of India and supported by Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland. In Dimapur, the voters’ awareness campaign will be held from 31st March to 2nd April 2014. CEO, Nagaland has appealed to all the voters, first time voters, students to be part of the Awareness Campaign. Entry is free for all.

DC Mkg reminds to appoint nodal officers

Mokokchung, March 24 (DIPR): DC & ARO, Mokokchung, Murohu Chotso has reminded all Heads of Departments to appoint one nodal officer to liaise with him for all election related matters. They have been asked to nominate one “responsible officer” and submit their name and designation with contact number to DC & ARO on or before March 26 without fail. The DC also directed all officers and staff to remain in station/ place of posting till the election process is completed. Outstation leave on medical/ official ground, if any, shall be available only after getting the due approval of the Deputy Commissioner.

DC & ARO Wokha informs on election duty certificate

Wokha, March 24 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner & Assistant Returning Officer, Wokha Vyasan R. has informed all concerned that Form 12 A, application form for Election Duty Certificate shall be issued at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha from March 24 onwards. Person on election duty may collect the form at the designated counter by showing copy of election-duty appointment order.

Observers for Nagaland Lok Sabha Election 2014 arrives

Kohima, March 24 (DIPR): The General Observer appointed by the ECI for Nagaland Parliamentary Election 2014, Manjit Singh and Ab. Latif Deva have arrived in the state and will be available at the conference hall of the Commissioner Nagaland & Returning Officer, Nagaland Parliamentary Election on all working days between 4 pm. and 6 pm. ADC Pughoboto notifies

Pughoboto, March 24 (DIPR): In view of the Lok Sabha Election, Additional Deputy Commissioner has notified all the officers and staff of various departments under Pughoboto Sub-Division to remain in their respective place of posting. Any officer or staff failing to comply with this notice shall attract appropriate action. Leave of any kind is also banned till the Election is over.

Tuensang, March 24 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang has directed all the polling personnel/ police/ drivers under District Election Officer, Tuensang, appointed for election duty to submit Form 12 A on or before March 31 for issue of Election Duty Certificate (EDC).
