On Janmashtami, Governor appeals to strive for world free from malice

Kohima, August 13 (MExN): On the occasion of Janmashtami, the Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has conveyed greetings and good wishes to people of Nagaland. “On this auspicious festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, let us strive to build a world free from malice and full of brotherhood and compassion. Let us concentrate on performing our duties without thinking about the rewards,” he appealed in a press release. Stating that good results will definitely follow right actions, he urged to imbibe Lord Krishna’s message of love and compassion and work together to take the country forward. Janmashtami, the Governor said, reminds of the life and teachings of Lord Krishna. “The festival inspires us towards a disciplined work-ethic, and imbibes us with the spirit of selfless service to the nation.” He hoped that Lord Krishna’s noble message of righteous conduct and action inspires each and every one to strengthen the moral foundations of the society and strive selflessly to take the country to new heights.


2nd State Level Teachers’ Conference

Kohima, August 13 (MExN): The 2nd State Level Teachers’ Conference will be organized by the SCERT on August 22 and 23 at the NBCC Convention Hall, Kohima. Government school teachers from all the eleven districts of the State including representatives from the Directorate of School Education (DoSE), NBSE, RMSA, SSA, DIETs and EBRCs will participate in the 2-day conference. The important areas to be covered are Monitoring & Supervision, Best Practices, and How to teach and learn the 4 core subjects, namely English, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences. The teachers have been requested to reach the venue on August 22 at 9:00 am without fail.


Committee formed on Clean Election

Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SKK) which is initiating the Clean Election campaign has formed Sumi Apex Committee on Clean Election consisting of Sumi Hoho, Sumi Totimi Hoho, Sumi Kukami Hoho, Sumi Church Associations and concerned citizens. The apex committee is headed by SKK President as Convenor and Dr. Vihuto Asumi as Co-convenor. The Committee has called for a meeting of all its members on August 19 at 10:00 am at SKK office in Zunheboto. All members have been requested to attend the meeting positively.


Free anti rabies vaccination, animal healthcare camps

Zunheboto, August 13 (MExN): The Chief Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Officer, Zunheboto, Dr. Toshi Aier has informed the farmers & general public that during the Independence Day celebration on August 15, the department will be organizing free anti rabies vaccination & animal healthcare camps at local grounds of Zunheboto, Pughoboto & Atoizu towns. In a press release, the CVO further said that there will be poultry exhibition cum competition of local & commercial birds of both male and female categories. Interested farmers and public have been asked to avail the services and participate on the day.
