Naga Ex Servicemen Association launched

Dimapur, April 27 (MExN):
The Naga ex servicemen met on April 26 in Dimapur to launch a state level platform to “voice out their grievances and make their voices heard.” A press release informed that over 100 ex servicemen residing in and around Dimapur and representatives from other districts attended the meeting and unanimously resolved to form an association by the name of Naga Ex Servicemen Association (NESA), with its headquarters in Dimapur and District Chapters in all 11 districts of the State. In this regard, the members present unanimously agreed to elect Col Sajukha Rengma as Chairman and Capt GK Zhimo as Secretary General of the association and further entrusted them to work out all modalities for NESA to function as legal entity, the release added.

Health camps held for economically poor in Kohima

KOHIMA, APRIL 27 (MExN):
As part of National Urban Health Mission (NUHM), Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) Kohima conducted health checkup camps for the “least fortunate and economically weaker section” in Kohima. Areas like Naga Bazaar, Chandmari, Daklane, and Kitsubozou were covered and the health camps were held in their respective Sub Centres, informed a press release.  This initiative was headed by Dr. Aomeren Longkumer, MO-UPHC Kohima, and UPHC staff supported by the staff of the respective Sub Centres and Ward Chairman. Over 300 patients availed free medical consultation and medicines. The patients included adults, children and elderly. The release stated that National Urban Health Mission, the newly instituted department under National Health Mission (NHM) aims to uplift the lives of the urban poor population by providing equitable and adequate access to health care through revamped public health care systems, camps and outreach services.
 
CWAK celebrates 36th general session

Dimapur, April 27 (MExN):
Chesezu Welfare Association Kohima (CWAK) celebrated its 36th general session cum picnic on April 26 under the theme, “Together We Stand” at Kigwema ground with Director, School Education, Zaveyi Nyekha as the chief guest. A press release issued by its outgoing chairman, Yota Swuro informed that the new office bearers for the tenure 2014- 2016 are: Mayhu Sasu - Chairman, Vetatso Ringa - Vice Chairman, Nungota Swuro - General Secretary, Desho Chuzho - Joint Secretary, Thotso Nyekha - Finance Secretary, Besusayi Nienu - Treasurer, Secretaries - Zalekholu Chuzho (Student), Vezhotsolu Ringa (Women), Besuto Nyekha and Nokho Nyekha (Both Cultural), and Advisory Board - Acuyi Nienu, Basuyi Khesoh and Yota Swuro. 
 
NSSATA Kiphire unit meeting

Kiphire, April 27 (MExN):
The All Nagaland SSA Teachers’ Association (NSSATA) Kiphire Unit will hold a general meeting on April 30, 10:00 am at Hopongkyu Memorial, Kiphire town. A Lipise Sangtam, president, NSSATA Kiphire unit has directed all SSA appointees under Kiphire district to attend the general meeting without fail. Absentees shall be imposed a fine of Rs.1500/-, he informed.
