ALTED launched

DIMAPUR, MAY 10 (MExN):
East Dimapur unit of Ao Lanur Telongjem Dimapur was launched on May 10. The launch programme of Ao Lanur Telongjem East Dimapur (ALTED) was held at its treasurer’s residence at Purana Bazaar. Additional PCCF, I. Panger Jamir, exhorted the ALTED to take it as a challenge to bring change in the society. To bring change requires character, he said, while adding that character lies at the foundation of a society. “Only when we build a clean society, Nagaland will earn recognition (and) achieving this must be accepted as a challenge.” He further stated that if progress is to be sought, it requires a collective revival of thought and action. Encouraging entrepreneurship among the youth, rather than remaining idle, will serve the purpose to progress, he said. On issues facing the Naga youth today, he said that “dropouts” is a serious matter which needs to be addressed and in that aspect, he added that youth forums such as the ALTED can play a big role.
