ENPO calls for meeting
 with all Naga tribes on Aug 3

Kohima, July 29 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) has called for a joint co-ordination meeting with all Naga tribes on August 3 at 10:00 am, Hotel Millennium, New Ministers Hill, Kohima. The following organizations and tribes have been requested to attend the said meeting; NTC, CNTC, Ao Senden, Sumi Hoho, Angami Public Organization, Lotha Hoho, Chakhesang Public Organization, Rengma Hoho, Pochury Hoho, UNC, Zeliangrong Baudi, ZPO and TCL Public Forum (Arunachal). This was informed in a press release from the ENPO media cell. 

 

Commissioning of water supply 
project for Chiephobozou

 
Kohima, July 29 (MExN): Minister PHED, Jacob Zhimomi will be commissioning Water Supply Project for Chiephobozou RD Block and surrounding villages at 11:00 am on July 30 at the Balancing Reservoir Site, Zhadima. Principal Secretary, PHED, Dr Maongwati Aier, IAS will chair the programme. Presentation of speeches and song will be followed by feast.

 

DSE informs on teacher’s 
day token flags collection

Kohima, July 29 (MExN): Director, School Education(DSE), Wonthungo Tsopoe has informed all Districts Education Officers(DEOs) and Sub-Divisional Education Officers(SDEOs) to collect “Teachers’ Day Token Flags” from August 1 to 10, from the Directorate of School Education, Kohima (Training hall) without fail, stated a DIPR report.  It has further informed all the Heads of Schools, both Government and Private Schools to collect the Teachers’ Day Token Flags from their respective DEO and SDEO.

 

Unidentified dead body recovered

Dimapur, July 29 (MExN): One unidentified dead body of a non-local male was recovered from Blue Hill station area, Dimapur on July 29. “The cause of death was suspected to be due to illness,” informed a press release issued by the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO. It further stated that on completion of all legal formalities the dead body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur for PM examination / identification. The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO has requested the   Claimant / relatives / friends of the deceased to contact Officer-in-Charge, East Police Station, Dimapur.

Donkupar's demise
 

Kohima, July 29 (MExN): A condolence message issued by the Media cell Deputy Chief Minister Office has stated that the Deputy Chief Minister & BLP Leader, Nagaland Y Patton, is “shocked” to learn about the sudden demise of Late Dr Donkupar Roy, former Chief Minister, incumbent speaker of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly and UDP chief, who passed away on July 28 in New Delhi (Gurgaon). “Roy as the former Chief Minister has served the people of Meghalaya in various capacities and has contributed enormously in the development of Meghalaya. His sudden demise is a huge loss to the people of Meghalaya,” he stated in the condolence message. The Deputy Chief Minister on behalf of all the BJP legislators, Nagaland conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, friends and supporters and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

 

NSCN/GPRN (K) clarifies on arrests 

Dimapur, July 29 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN-K today said that two cadres - Kughaho Chishi and Kheghoto Swu, whose arrests by Dimapur Police have been published on local dailies on July 24 and 26 respectively, are not its members as reported. A rejoinder issued by its MIP Cell stated, “The mentioned persons are not members of the NSCN/GPRN-K (Khango).”  In this connection, while appreciating the Dimapur Police for ‘apprehending the imposters,’ the NSCN/GPRN (K) in the release requested the police “authenticate the identity of the apprehended persons before publication in the media, so as to avoid unnecessary malignation of the NSCN (K)’s image.”
