ADC Sanis suspends weekly bazaars

Wokha, March 17 (MExN): ADC, Sanis Zibenthung Kithan, NCS has informed that in view of the World Health Organisation declaring the unprecedented outbreak of COVID-19 as a pandemic, it has become imperative as a pre-emptive measure in the interest of the public, that all weakly bazaars under Sanis Sub-Division shall remain suspended until further notice effective immediately, as mass gathering are most vulnerable to unabated spread of the disease. The general public has been requested to cooperate and bear with the inconvenience for the time being.

 

All ILP counters in Dimapur suspended

Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): In compliance with the office memorandum issued by Government of Nagaland, Home Department: Political Branch, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur Anoop Kinchi IAS has informed that as a precautionary step for preventing and controlling the outbreak of COVID 19 in the State, all ILP counters in Dimapur district remains suspended till further orders and issue of new/fresh Inner Line Permits for Tourists (Domestic/Foreigners) and all other categories will remain suspended with immediate effect. Only cases of ILP renewal will be done from DCs office Dimapur.  He further informed that as per the Home Department's order, entry of any Foreign or Domestic tourist shall remain barred in the State of Nagaland from March 18 onwards until further order. 

 

DC Dimapur notifies butchers 

Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): The Dimapur Deputy Commissioner, Anoop Khinchi has notified all butchers operating in Dimapur District that sale/butchering meat in undesignated locations is strictly prohibited and defaulters will be booked as per relevant section of the law. All authorized butchers are directed to sell meat in proper hygienic conditions only. 

 

COVID-19: Special Action Group
to monitor situation in Nagaland 

Kohima, March 17 (MExN): In view of the evolving situation on account of the spread of COVID-19, a Special Action Group is constituted as under to continuously monitor the situation, and to ensure that actions are taken in order to keep the State in readiness for any eventuality, apart from taking prompt measures for prevention and control of the spread of the Virus.  The Special Action Group will be headed by Chairman Abhijit Sinha, IAS, Principal Secretary, Home with members including Renchamo P Kikon, ADGP (L&O), Shanavas C IAS, Principal Director, School Education; Dr Vizolie Suokhrie, Principal Director, H&FW, Imnukshila Jamir, Director, Rural Development, Limawati Ao, Director, IPR, Elizabeth Ngully, Jt Secretary, UD, Imtimenla, Mission Director, NSRLM, and Jhonny Rongmei, OSD, NSDMA.

 

Theological colleges in 
Nagaland to remain closed

Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): Taking into concern the safety and welfare of the theological student community, in view of the COVID-19 spread and in compliance of the Government of Nagaland directive, the Nagaland Theological College Association (NTCA) has informed that NTCA office and all theological colleges in Nagaland will remain closed. The NTCA in a press release said that “in regards to the suspension of classes” the respective colleges can decide according to their conveniences since some have their annual examination. The association also encouraged the colleges to host the graduations in “private manner.” While encouraging the theological colleges to create awareness in the respective college, the NTCA has appealed all to pray together for God's divine intervention at this crucial hour for Nagas and the world.

 

ADC Tening constitutes task force on COVID-19

Tening, March 17 (MExN): ADC Tening, Rhosietho Nguori has constituted Sub Divisional Task Force on COVID- 19 Tening in view of the declaration of COVID- 19 as a ‘Controllable Pandemic’ by the World Health Organisation with following members: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chairperson; Medical Officer, PHC, Member-Secretary; Extra Assistant Commissioner, Block Development Officer, CDPO, Officer-in- Charge of Police Station, Information Assistant of IPR, Executive Secretary of LBA, President of TTWWO (Women Organisation), Head GB, President of Tening Town Traders’ Union, President of Tening Town Youth Organisation were as members. The Task Force will address relevant issues through concerted effort to sensitise, educate and contain the spread of the disease.
