BAN to shift farmers’ market to Urban Haat 

Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): The Business Association of Nagas (BAN) local farmers market will be shifted to Urban Haat, near old Dhansari Bridge, Dimapur from May 8. The BAN in a press release stated that the market has been operating from state stadium earlier. The new location – Urban Haat is centrally located and more accessible and will be convenient for all stakeholders. ‘COVID cess initiated for supporting poor’

Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): Clarifying on COVID cess issue, Nagaland PHE Minister, Jacob Zhimomi said “since state has no internal revenue and dependent on GIA from the Central Government COVID cess has been initiated for supporting the poor, during such extra ordinary times.” He was addressing the meeting convened in the light of outbreak of corona virus with the Dimapur district administration, Police, Medical Department Naga Council Dimapur, Western Sumi Hoho Dimapur, Chakhroma Public Organization Food and Civil Supplies besides the elected Legislators of Dimapur district. A DIPR report stated that the meeting was held in the conference hall of DC Dimapur on May 7, under the chairmanship of Jacob Zhimomi, to oversee the system put in place at Dimapur district in its fight against COVID 19 pandemic.

 

Kohima: All categories of shops to open on May 8 & 9 

Kohima, May 7 (MExN): With a view to facilitate shopping for the general public on account of Mother’s Day which falls on May 10, all categories of shops have been allowed to remain open during permitted hours on Friday (May 8) and Saturday (May 9). Stating this in office order, Kohima deputy commissioner Gregory Thejawelie directed the general public and the shopkeepers to maintain safe practices such as social distancing, sanitizing, washing of hands and wear mask at all times.
