Dimapur DC requisitions 5 more quarantine centres

DIMAPUR, MAY 17 (MExN): The Dimapur DC has requisitioned five facilities as quarantine centres for stranded people returning from outside the State.  The Centres have been suggested by the respective communities and duly verified by the accommodation committee together with the Medical Department and representative of the Commissioner of Police.

ADC Tening requests one 
IRB platoon for Tening town

TENING, MAY 17 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tening, Rhosietho Nguori has requested the State government for one platoon of IRB for Tening Town. A letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, Peren stated that the present police personnel in Tening Town is not enough to handle the current situation with the imposition of CrPc 144. The ADC further informed that as per standard operation procedure of quarantine centres, one uniformed personnel is required in each quarantine centre. 

 

Dimapur DC convenes 
meeting on May 18

DIMAPUR, MAY 17 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi has convened a meeting of the District Task Force to discuss matters relating to the COVID-19 pandemic on May 18. The meeting will be held at the DC's conference hall on May 18. All the concerned members of the District Task Force, Dimapur have been requested to attend the meeting without fail.

 

NCD says it has not 
endorsed May 18 meeting

DIMAPUR, MAY 17 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) today informed that it has not called for any joint meeting on May 18 at ASTD office near the IMC Hall Dimapur. A press release from the NCD President, T Bangerloba; General Secretary, Thsapongkyu Sangtam; Vice President, K Ghokheto Chophy; and Joint Secretary, Rangau Zeliang said that it was “appalled” to see the press notice calling for the meeting of the presidents of all 19 tribes bodies. The NCD said that it has not endorsed the meeting and urged “those behind the self styled meeting not to mislead the public.”  It meanwhile reiterated that the NCD will abide by the advisory on COVID-19 lockdown rules for the interest of public safety. 

 

TPCC informs

DIMAPUR, MAY 17 (MExN): The Tribal Presidents Coordination Committee (TPCC) has pre-poned the May 18 meeting to 10:00am. A press release from the committee’s convenor, Zelhou Angami said that this has been done in lieu of the government notifications to continue the lockdown guidelines.

 

NSCN (IM) mourns

DIMAPUR, MAY 17 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) today mourned the demise of Corporal (Posthumous) Yemlongchaba Lumou of Yambamo Brigade, Naga Army from Tuensang village under Chang Region on May 17 after a prolonged illness. A press release from the MIP of the NSCN (IM) informed that Lumou had enrolled in the Naga national service on August 13, 2015. “He served the Naga nation with unwavering national spirit until his demise. The void created by his demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in. For his selfless contribution to the Naga national cause, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and his sacrifices for Naga nation shall ever be cherished by all,” the release stated. It meanwhile conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.
