Tuensang CMO Office sealed

Tuensang, October 16 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman District Task Force, Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant has ordered the sealing of the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Tuensang, with immediate effect, for a period of 48 hours or till further orders. During this period no public interview shall be entertained and all officers /staff of the office are advised to self isolate and work from home and be available on call, the DC stated in his order.

House in Xuvihe colony sealed

Dimapur, October 16 (MExN): The Chairperson District Disaster Management Authority and Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Soundararajan has notified the sealing of a house in Dimapur’s Xuhive Colony with immediate effect, till further orders. Any person violating these containment measures will be liable to be proceeded as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under Section 188 of the Indian penal Code, the DC cautioned.

CCCTA cautions traders against malpractices

Dimapur, October 16 (MExN): The Chümoukedima Chamber of Commerce and Trade Association (CCCTA) has cautioned traders charging above the prescribed rates of heavy penalties. In a press release on Friday, the association’s President and General Secretary stated that it had been receiving directions from the administration about traders involving in such practices. It informed consumers to inform the CCTA and contact the following numbers to lodge complaints: 8414934756 or 9612169539 or 9856505257. Further, it also notified all business establishments, suppliers and vendors to mandatorily register and procure trade permits from the CCCTA at the earliest, to avoid any eventualities.  

Two arrested for hijacking vehicle

Dimapur, October 16 (MExN): With assistance from its counterparts in Kohima, the Dimapur Police arrested two persons on criminal charges of hijacking a goods laden vehicle on October 16.
According to a press release from the ADCP (Crime) & PRO, Dimapur Police, the two, identified as Sanibou Zeliang (30yrs) and Bokavi Zhimo (24yrs) had waylaid a Tata mobile vehicle at Piphema area in the early hours of Friday after overpowering its driver. “The vehicle along with the arrested persons was subsequently intercepted at Khuzama Check Gate,” the release stated.  A case has been registered in Medziphema Police Station, it said.

NDPP calls on members to uphold alliance

Kohima, October 16 (MExN): The NDPP on Friday directed all its rank and file to “assist and support BJP candidate in 60-Pungro-Kiphire constituency” in the spirit of its pre-poll alliance with the BJP. 
In a press release on Friday, NDPP President Chingwang Konyak reminded that the party is in a pre-poll alliance with the BJP having an understanding of seat sharing. With the filing of nominations by NDPP candidate Medo Yhokha, in 14-Southern Angami-I and BJP candidate Lirimong Sangtam, in 60-Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituencies respectively, the spirit of alliance needs to be maintained by both the NDPP and the BJP, the party president said.
In order to have smooth understanding and better co-operation, the Alliance needs to have co-ordination committees at the district and assembly constituency levels and these committees comprising of members of both the parties are to have periodical meetings, Konyak added. 

USLP, PPC mourn CM Chang

Dimapur, October 16 (MExN): The United Sangtam Likhüm Pümji (USLP) mourned the demise of CM Chang, Minister for Forest & Environment, Law & Justice, who passed away on October 12.  Describing Late Chang as a man of integrity who worked tirelessly to uplift the society, the USLP in a press release on Friday, stated that in his death, the Chang community and ENPO family has lost a dynamic and visionary leader. 
The USLP conveyed its sincere condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that God grant them peace and solace at this difficult time.
PPC: The Phom Peoples' Council (PPC) meanwhile stated that “It is a great loss for the Eastern people in particular and the Nagas in general because the void left behind by him will be hard to fill.” He was humble, soft spoken and always ready to sacrifice for the good of the society, it said in its condolence message received today. Conveying condolences to the bereaved family, the PPC prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.

Muivah, TNWF of NSCN (IM) condoles

Dimapur, October 16 (MExN): Ato Kilonser of NSCN (IM), Thuingaleng Muivah has mourned the demise of M Zhavotuo Medom, Kilonser of Angami Region, NSCN (IM), who passed away on October 15 at Ura village after prolonged illness.
“The Nation has lost a dedicated and committed national worker and leader in the death of Zhavotuo Medom leaving a vacuum in the national service that will be hard to fill,” Muivah said in a condolence message. 
Stating that Late Medom dedicatedly and selflessly contributed whatever he could for the cause of the Naga Nation in different assignments and responsibilities, Muivah conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed to rest in peace. 
TNWF:  The Tenyimi National Workers’ Forum (TNWF) of the NSCN-IM mourned the demise of Medom who was a former CAO, Angami Region, Deputy Kilonser and Steering Member, Kilonser and Executive Member TNWF at the time of his passing.
“He was a man of principle and integrity who also stood firm through thick and thin in the Naga national movement and rendered cooperation to the TNWF during his time,” said the Forum. It said that his demise has brought irreparable loss to the Angami Region, the Tenyimi people the Naga nation in general.
The forum further expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members at this hour of sorrow and prayed that the God grant eternal peace and rest to the departed soul.
