Governor greets Kuki community 

Kohima, January 16 (MExN): Nagaland Governopr R N Ravi extended Mimkut greetings to the Kuki community and to the people of Nagaland on Saturday. “During the celebration, Kuki community exhibits their magnificent traditions and customs wherein the young people familiarise themselves with their roots. Love and brotherhood are important essence of this festival,” the Governor shared. “On this auspicious occasion, May God bless you all with happy, healthy and long life,” the Governor said, while urging everyone to observe COVID-19 SOPs while celebrating the festival.

Evidence meeting of Tourism dept on Feb 1

Kohima, January 16 (MExN): An evidence meeting with the departmental representatives of Tourism has been fixed for February 1 in the Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat at 11:00 am, Dr P J Anthony, Commissioner and Secretary of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly notified on Saturday. All members of the Estimates Committee have been requested to attend the meeting.

Home Dept postpones AHOD & HOD meeting 

Kohima, January 16 (MExN): The meeting of Administrative Heads of Departments and Heads of Departments scheduled to be held on January 19 has been postponed. According to the Home Department, a fresh date for the meeting will be intimated in due course, a DIPR report stated on Friday. 

ERO Phek notifies on final publication of electoral roll

Phek, January 16 (MExN): ADC and ERO Phek, Tsuktimar has notified that the list of amendment to the final roll for the 16-Pfutsero, 17-Chizami, 18-Chozuba, 19-Phek and 20-Meluri Assembly Constituency has been prepared with reference to January 1, 2021 as the qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. A copy of the said roll together with said list of amendments has been published and will be available for inspection at the office of the DC during office hours, the ERO informed.

NNC (Parent Body) convenes CEC meeting

Dimapur, January 16 (MExN): The Naga National Council (Parent Body) under the leadership of Yilow Humtsoe, Zhiongba Yimchungrü and V Nagi, has convened a Central Executive Council meeting from January 20 to 22. According to a press release from the group’s Information & Publicity Wing on Friday, the meeting will discuss “urgent political issues and the present situation in the homeland for the betterment and peace for the Naga people in particular and the northeast in general.” All the NNC Regional Council officials and the Central Executive Council members have been requested to attend the meeting.

14 Tribes of Nagaland condoles 

Dimapur, January 16 (MExN): The 14 Tribes has mourned the demise of Tsulen, wife of the group’s Secretary Laji, who passed away on January 14 in Kohima. “Tsulen had been a great source of strength and support to her husband who could devote his time and energy to the cause of the 14 Tribes in particular and to the Nagas in general,” it said in a condolence message issued by Co-ordinator KT Vilie.It further prayed for peace and solace for the bereaved family.

Dy CM condoles 

Kohima, January 16 (MExN): Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister (Dy CM) Y Patton in charge of Home and PWD(R& B) department, expressed sadness at the demise of Er Kezholel Rhetso Angami,  Executive Engineer (Design) R&B, who passed away while undergoing treatment in Kolkata on January 16. Patton described late Kezholel as an upright and honest officer who discharged his assigned duties with utmost sincerity, since his joining government service in 1993. “His death is a great loss to the family and the department as well,” Patton said in his condolence message on Saturday. The Dy CM on behalf of the department conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

IPPI prog rescheduled in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, January 16 (MExN): The Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) programme scheduled for January 17 in Mokokchung district has been postponed to January 31. This was informed in a press release issued by the office of the Mokokchung Chief Medical Officer through the state DIPR. A decision to this effect was made by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) in consultation with the office of the President of India, the release stated. 

BSF to conduct nationwide Pension Adalat

Kohima, January 16 (MExN): A nationwide Pension Adalat is scheduled to be conducted at FTR Head Quarter, Border Security Force (BSF), South Bengal through video conference on January 21 and 22 to redress/resolve the grievances of pensioners/family pensioners.
