ADC Bhandari reiterates strict observation of SOP

Bhandari, April 19 (MExN): Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhandari, Tiameren Chang, has reiterated strict observation of the existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) under Bhandari Sub-division. The directive stated that mandatory use of mask, installation of hand sanitizer facilities and maintaining social distancing in all public places and social and religious gatherings should be strictly followed, in the interest of public health safety, against community spread and a preventive measure against the surge of COVID-19 pandemic in the state and the district. It further notified that event organisers should strictly ensure to properly ventilate event places and thoroughly sanitize the places before and after events.

NNC/FGN Phom Region meeting held 

Dimapur, April 19 (MExN): The NNC/FGN Phom Region held a meeting with Kedallo, Zhopra Vero along with Senka Ao, President NNC, Vepozo Chuzho, Kilonser, Tingloi Konyak, Kilonser, Chubakumzuk, Kilonser and C. Kamsung, Deputy Kilonser on April 17. An update from MIP NNC/FGN stated that the meeting resolved to make a concerted effort to strengthen the Phom Region and decided to appeal the Phom public to support the present regional endeavour. The house also unanimously endorsed the agreed position signed between the Working Committee, NNPGs and GoI and resolved to give unflinching support to the ongoing talks between the NNPGs and GoI to arrive at an honourable and acceptable political solution. 

NVCO Tseminyu demands better internet services and power supply

Tseminyu, April 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Voluntary Consumers Organization (NVCO) Tseminyu subdivision has raised the grievances of public pertaining to continued poor internet services under Tseminyu subdivision. NVCO Tseminyu subdivision Media Cell in a press release mentioned that “banking services have been drastically affected for more than a couple of weeks owing to the pathetic telecom service providers coupled with erratic power supply.” It also said that the daily activities of public from far flung areas, town dwellers and students community especially those appearing HSLC & HSSLC exams are adversely affected due to poor internet services and irregular power supply. Therefore, the concerned authority and department have been urged to look into the problems more seriously and rectify the hurdles avoiding any further inconveniences. 

Sao Chang College holds interdepartmental seminar

Tuensang, April 19 (MExN): The Research Committee of Sao Chang College, Tuensang organized an interdepartmental seminar on April 19. Dr Iris Odyuo, Associate Professor, Department of History presented a paper titled, ‘Crafting Resilience through Weaving’ and Dr Shokip Tumtin, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry presented on ‘Medicinal Chemistry: Drug Design, Development and their Applications.’ The rapporteurs were T Shumong Tikhir, Assistant Professor, Department of History and Dipak Nath, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry. The seminar was chaired by Dr Imnazenla Longkumer, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science and vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Kenilo Kath, Assistant Professor, Department of History.

Peren DTF prepares to tackle COVID-19 second wave

Peren, April 19 (MExN): The Peren District Task Force (DTF) meeting chaired by DC and Chairman DTF Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS was held at DC’s Conference Hall on April 19.  According to a DIPR report, the house deliberated on the second wave of COVID-19. They discussed about restrictions of returnees to the district and COVID Care Centre which need to be ready for any eventuality. The DTF members deliberated on strict enforcement of SOP and handling of positive cases in the district with arrangements in place at COVID Hospital CHC Jalukie, COVID Care Centre, District Hospital Peren and CHC Tening. The Medical Department has been asked to be prepared beforehand to avoid shortages and complications. Police Department was entrusted to look into the enforcement of penalties on the general public for violations of SOP. The house also discussed on the closure of educational institutions and entry points to the District. The DC requested the church and civil societies to disseminate information regarding the Covid-19 vaccine, which are made available in all blocks in the district. The meeting was attended by representatives from NZPO, ZBCC, Medical Department, Police and District Administration.
